Pietersite “Lumpy” Brooch
This brooch was created around the Pietersite stone I had purchased. this stone caught my eye because of its interesting earthy texture with a lot of chatoyancy. Pietersite is a member of the quartz family and is often called eagle’s eye. I find the stone particularly interesting because Pietersite is not often faceted like this stone is.
I originally thought that I would make a pendant with this stone but after starting to create the setting for the stone I saw that it would be nicer as a brooch/lapel pin. I created the brooch frame from wax and added my logo to the bottom then cast the whole thing into silver. I then fabricated the pin backing. Finished March 2024
